Rice with Shish Kebab

(2-4 portions)

  • 3 cups rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 tbsp. oil or 30g margarine
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 300g minced beef
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/2 stock cube (chicken)

Rinse the rice and leave it in water for 30 minutes. Heat the oil or the margarine in a pot. Add 1/2 tbsp salt, stock cube , tomato paste and mix them up. Add the water and bring it to boil. Add the rice, let it boil for ca 5 minutes until the water is absorbed. Reduce heat very low, cover the pot and leave it to cook for ca 20 minutes. Chop the onion and put it in a bowl, add minced beef, black pepper and mix all ingredients well. Then shape into small balls "Shish Kebab", put them on a spit. Grill the Shish Kebab or put them in the oven (ca 15 minutes 200° ). Serve it with the rice.
