PACKING:
Swedish rice use the latest technology to weigh and place their
rice into the consumer packets and bags that arc then distributed
to their customers. It is well to remember that much of the rice
packed in Asia still relies on manual sack or packet filling and
manual closing creating a higher risk of contamination a this
final stage of the milling process. However the Swedish Rice facilities
are extremely hygienically designed and operated with stainless
steel filler chutes and ledge-free surfaces to prevent the accumulation
of product. The process is totally automatic whereby the packets
and/or bags arc automatically placed on the machine, a preset
weight of rice is discharged into the pack, and then the pack
is automatically seal by sewing or heat sealing. Consumers can
be confident that only the highest standards of hygiene and accuracy
is applied to each individual packet or bag of rice produced and
packed by Swedish Rice.
PALLETISING:
Throughout the rice milling and packaging process Swedish Rice
have taken care not to cause excessive physical requirements for
their staff. The final process function at the milling and packing
plant is to place each pack or bag onto shipping pallets. This
is done by a fully automated, robotic palletizer which is programmed
to achieve the precise stack pattern and high to suit the warehouse
and supermarket requirements. The robotic palletizer quickly and
efficiently places each pack onto the pallet without subjecting
the pack to excessive force that often happens with manual handling.
Hence pack breakage is non-existent and the client will receive
their rice in excellent condition. An additional hygienic function
is to wrap each pallet unit load in plastic to ensure that during
the distribution cycle that no contaminants can contact the packets
or bags. The pallets of rice are spun in plastic together with
a top cover to prevent the entry of dust. The rice is then ready
for distribution to the customer knowing that Swedish Rice have
achieved the highest standard possible during the milling, packaging
and distribution processes.
SAFETY:
Every effort was put into the design and construction of the rice
milling and packaging facility to ensure it is a safe place to
work and visit. Machinery is located on a small mezzanine floor
with good access and accessibility, All elevators and conveyors
are serviceable from the ground floor or tank tops again with
good accessibility around each elevator and conveyor and tank.
All tanks, machines and elevator are under negative pressure exhaust
ensuring that any rice dust generated during the process is contained
within the machines thus providing a clean environment for the
workers, Machine drives arc properly guarded and moving machinery
suitably housed. Hygiene is kept to very high level and any spilt
gain or dust residues are continuously removed to ensure the workplace
is consistent clean. The Swedish Rice milling and packing plant
is indeed a clean and safe place to work and visit.
